Two best shot medals. Best Shot of the Volunteers and The Magdala Medal.
Best Shot Volunteers engraved to Vol. G.B. Ellis, Allahabad Vol. Rifles. Presented by the Government of India, written on the front outer edge.
The Magdal Medal presented by General Sir F.P. Haines K.C.B. Commander-in-Chief in India. Best Shot Native troops Bengal Presidency.
Both are silver plated. Ellis may well have had Victorian military experience, the one medal dated 1902-03
