Added a Zulu medal with 1879 clasp to my collection too 842.PTE.A.H.O'CONNOR 58th FOOT, they stayed on for the 1st boer war,is there a list of soldiers who stayed on????? any info much appreciated.

Very envious, you have got yourself a cracking medal there and one that I would be very happy to own as a collector of 58th Foot

Pte. 842 A H O'Conner Died of wounds received in action at Laings Nek, 29/1/1881.

One of the two iconic actions in which the Rutlands were involved during the 1st Boer War.

Don't suppose you fancy selling it :D

Hello Tony, thank-you very much for that, what a nice surprise, i have Forsyths book confirming the medal, but nothing for the 58th in the 1st boer war, where did you get the info from is there a book? allways open to offers, you can PM me, regards
