The damaged window is in what was St John's Church, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. At the time I took the photos the church had been closed and near-derelict for several years and was in the process of being renovated for possible use as a restaurant with the window to be retained.

William Hickin is also commemorated on a family headstone in Hanley cemetery.
