An unusual headstone that I came across in the pioneer section of the Hatzic Cemetery near Mission, British Columbia, Canada.
Major-General Charles Fergusson Sharpe, late Indian Staff Corps, 1838-1902. His son was a farmer in the area and he must have chose to retire here. Of Doncaster, South Yorkshire, England. I'll try to do a little research on him.

Hi Scona,

His former regiment was the 72nd Bengal Native Infantry, he served during the Indian Mutiny.

Thanks acanthus. A visit to the local archives turned up this synopsis on him.
