Just a quick link to a bit of footage of the chaps at Detling - on the Monday when the sun shone rather than on the Saturday when the heavens opened - good to have Richard and the chaps from the 24th, 80th and Dixie (from the forum) and his people all working together alongside one another - enjoy the footage:
Try the above link for the rainy Saturday arena display if you can't see the footage on Facebook of the Monday. Incidently Tim, it doesn't work for me either so whoever posted it may need to change the privacy settings to public.
A fantastic weekend, it was great to get so many re-enactors working together and I must say thanks to Tim for organising it!
OK too teccie for me - I'll see if I can get it posted to Youtube then - the footage isn't the best as it was the first time out in an arena that was far too small but with 28 riflemen and an artillery crew and piece I know it's the largest number of Zulu War reenactors in the UK ever to be seen together. It's a shame we didn't have footage from the Sunday when we had another 6 lads on the line and I had got my brain in gear and act together a bit more!
Just shows what can be achieved if everyone works together - here's to next year and the 50th anniversary of the release of a certain film!
