Heritage Open Day 2015

Postby Dixie » 15 Sep 2015 14:55

Last weekend was Heritage Open Weekend, which is a nationwide event in the UK where heritage buildings that are usually closed are open to the public for one weekend each year.

The Queen's (Royal West Surrey) Regiment Re-enactment Society was joined by members of the Diehard Company and other re-enactors at Henley Fort in Guildford, the last in a chain of defensive forts underneath London built in the 1890's.

We worked together to put on a display of the uniforms and weapons used by the Victorian soldier, from 1854-1904.

On my part - the first official outing of the newly completed Surrey Rifles uniform.
