Recently I started having a look at information available about British Nurses in South Africa during the Zulu War of 1879. As a re-enactor, this rapidly became the basis for a living history idea.
I aim, maybe at some point next summer, to represent as best I can, the field hospital at Utrecht, where Sister Janet Wells nursed.
The research is going well so far but I'm interested to hear people's ideas on my project and I welcome any help to develop the idea and help it become a reality.
I'm particularly interested to hear from anyone with interests in Victorian medicine, especially battlefield medicine, or who has accounts of field hospitals of the period (c. 1870-1890).
Questions relating to the project will be warmly welcomed
