Greetings from across the pond

Postby mds1967 » 14 May 2017 03:46

Hello everyone.
I've been an amateur student of history in general and military history all my life. As a boy my primary focus was WWII, but horizons broaden with age.
I've always been fascinated by the Victorian Era. Like Rome before it, Victorian London ruled and administered a vast empire completely out of proportion to its home territory. As a writer I'm drawn to this period because the expansion and maintenance of empire is bursting with opportunities to craft a story.
Never fear, I'll not annoy anyone with veiled sales pitches. I'm here to research in an effort to make my work as historically accurate as possible. And, I've already discovered a wealth of useful information in a short time.
Thank you to all who take the time to explain the intricacies of the age.

Gary,
I'm right on the 38th.
I've published a contemporary military thriller and an historical detective. Am currently working on a story set during the Zulu and 2nd Afghan Wars.
Thank you for the welcome.

Gary,
Yes, they're on Kindle. Storm on the Horizon and St Louis Affair.
