Hello from new member and looking for an I.D. on tunic

]Thank you for accepting me as a member for this very interesting forum.

After clearing out an inherited estate l found this uniform (apologies for the pictures and the state of the uniform) l would love to know more, although there is no evidence of regiment etc. I have done my family tree, but maybe need to investigate further. The family originated from Shropshire / Herefordshire area, would it be the norm for men to join "their" counties regiment.

I've found out that the Uniform Clothing Equipment Co Ltd, 5 Clerkenwell Gardens started in 1905

Unfortunately 2 of the photos are too big to download. One is of a button of the uniform, which has a "vase" shaped motif, there is not writing on it. The other picture is the jacket, which is black, with a red & gold (grandad) collar, there is gold braiding on the shoulders....possibly a dress uniform??

Thanking you in advance and looking forward to some exciting news

I can't personally help you regarding your uniform query, but warm welcome to the forum!

Welcome, too

There is not a lot to go on there. The detail you trefer to in the other photos might be useful/ You might try resizing them here:
