Identification of RN vessel 1905 - ???handwriting

Postby stuwismulGen » 15 Jun 2015 04:18

Could anyone pls identify what ship this might be I just can't get the writing at all... I've had a quick look at the list of RN ship names for H K and S but none seem to fit. It was transporting an RMLI ancestor fm the HMS Forte (location currently unknown) on a 28? Day trip to Plymouth Division.

Many thanks

Thank you Martin
Was still worried about the flick up at the end but I’ve googled and indeed HMS Hermione could be right- seems she was enroute to England fm China via the Cape in 1905 to go into reserve at Portsmouth in 1906 prior to being refitted. So, she could indeed have acted as transport for my RM.

Cheers
