Hindu Kush by Horse.

This is a short article (Shown here courtesy of Henry Dallal's website, which presents it as a series of JPG's) that appeared in London Clubs Magazine by Photojournalist Henry Dallal. It recounts in brief his invitation to join Sir Evlyn Webb-Carter (Former commander of the Houshold Division) and the Late Professor Richard Holmes on a horseback trek in the footsteps of Colonel Kelly in 1895. It's brief but very nice, and for those of us who were fans of Holmes, bound to bring a smile.

I never knew Holmes went on expeditions like this! Just a shame there isn't more.
I highly recommend the wonderful coffee table book "Horse Warriors" by Dallal, a photographic tour of the 61st Indian Cavalry.

Lieutenant Beynon’s diary (mentioned in the links above) is probably the book, available online at archive.org
With Kelly To Chitral by Lieutenant W.G.L. Beynon, D.S.O. 1st Battallion 3rd Goorka Rifles, Staff Officer to Colonel Kelly's Relief Force
