Wanted empty box for

Hello long shot but does any member by chance have a empty box for the following medal or and help in finding one

1902 Peace Treaty for the Boer War, silver medal by Emil Fuchs, for Elkington, Peace sheaths her sword, troops pass by towards ships, reverse Angel at the side of a fallen soldier, TO THE MEMORY OF THOSE WHO GAVE THEIR LIVES FOR QUEEN AND COUNTRY, box required for a medal size 52mm

I have the complete set minus one and of the 11 I only have one in a box...... It is the 70 mm size and that was found by a local coin dealer for me..... It is not an official box but a box from another medal...... I wish you the best in your search......

Maybe you can do the same and see if a coin dealer may have an empty pox to fit.......

Cheers Mike will do by the way I paid £80 for the silver medal with out box is that about right

Yes that is a very very good price..... A 2008 Catalogue it is listed as 194.00 Pounds......

Do you know the mintage number of all of the medals produced Silver and Bronze also would it devalue the medal to have the rim privately engraved as I have a couple of casualties to the Boer War

No I don't know how many were made and rather than devalue in my opinion it would increase the value as you would have someone to research..... So long as it was period engraving not modern.......

Most period engraving is done by hand and is uneven rather than the machine work that is done now..... If not already engraved I would not do it.......
