STOLEN: Baltic medal now recovered

Postby crimea1854 » 22 Apr 2013 16:10

UPDATE

I returned home this morning to find a burglar in the house. Apart from a number of items of jewellery the thief was able to escape with a Baltic Medal named to Benj. Bell HMS Locust. I had only taken delivery of it last week, so it was not yet in secure storage.

Can I ask that Members keep a weather eye open in case it turns up for sale. I will post an incident number as soon as advised by Essex Police, together with their contact details.

I have also posted this message on the British Medal Forum, but a few more pairs of eyes cannot hurt!

Martin

I'm pleased to report that during the tidy-up the medal and some of the jewellery has been found, apparently dropped in his haste to escape.

Great to hear the medal has now been found! I do hope they catch the burglar and a successful prosecution follows!
