I think that you are right to give the image a 10-year span to be on the safe side. Your first photo with the undress caps had a number of clear features to narrow the date span quite clearly. The second photo has nothing to narrow things down definitively, even the rank on left arm could be a unit idiosyncrasy as pointed out in this thread. Nevertheless, the overall quality of the image and something about its staging still leads me if pressed, to on balance prefer the latter half of your span, albeit that is just a personal view.
Relic of many a fight and siege and sack, it points a moral and adorns the back.
