QV's Golden Jubilee Medal with Diamond Clasp

Postby BingandNelsonFan » 22 Aug 2017 14:43

Hello, everyone!

This is a quick question, but I'm wondering if anyone has a nice photo of a Queen Victoria Golden Jubilee Medal with the clasp for the Diamond Jubilee? The only images I can find are those on this Wikipedia page:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Queen_Vic ... ilee_Medal
They are really small, though, particularly the clasp. I'd like a nice photo of the whole thing (with clasp) to add to a memorial for a soldier.

Thanks very much!

Am curious whose the soldier?

If he joined the Metropolitan Police after 1879 I might be able to supply you with some details of his police service, if that would be of interest?

I think that you have inadvertently highlighted my error, VictorianDad. Sarah was looking for an image of the generic Diamond Jubilee Medal and I have mistakenly posted images of the special Police version of a different design. Mea culpa, Sarah! :(

Oh that's a shame, I thought we had a nice army/police medal group there.

Indeed, I'm sorry to disappoint. I've been researching and reading all kinds of things about Crimean War heroes. It's all new to me, being American (where the only mention of the Crimea is Florence Nightingale). My sister makes all kinds of displays for war heroes (usually Americans in WWI and WWII), so I am going to have her make some kind of framed collage for me in memory of Crimean heroes. So, that's where my question was coming from. Sorry. :)
