With reference to the attached picture, can anyone tell me anything about the item? More picture can be provided if required.

Good morning,
Your holster is the type fitted to a saddle , sometimes paired with another , fixed to the pommel, date is probably early 19th. Cent. either for percussion or flintlock muzzle loaders.

Sorry for the delay! Many thanks for the feedback on this one. I've attached a picture of the rear of the holster in the hope that you might be able to explain how it was attached to the saddle?

usually there would be brass or iron cleats built into the pommel area of the saddle so that you can thread the straps through them, sorry for delay in replying, Richard
