1901 Census of Soldiers serving in the Boer War

Would anyone be able to advise me please if it is possible to obtain details of the 1901 Census for serving soldiers. My grandfather Richard John Bennett was in the 2nd Bat. Scots Guards serving in South Africa at this time.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The 1901 census was the UK census, and as such didn't include troops serving overseas.
Since he was in the Boer War though, the medal roll will pick him up.

598 Lance-Cpl R.J.Bennett, 2/Scots Gds
3-clasp medal: Cape Colony, Transvaal, Wittebergen
