Men at Spionkop?

Postby RobD » 07 Oct 2017 15:44

Dear ABW enthusiasts
I am seeking details on the men [on the British side] who were present at Spionkop 23-24 January 1900.
I understand the units were as listed below, and from the casualty rolls I would like to calculate the proportion killed/wounded/missing from each unit. I can't find the info in any of my books.
Does anyone know a source which describes the strength of each unit used in the battle?
Thanks
Rob

3rd Bn KRRC
2nd Bn Lancashire Fusiliers
2nd Bn Middlesex
17th Co. Royal Engineers
2nd Bn Royal Lancasters
1st Bn Scottish Rifles
1st Bn South Lancashire

HellO Rob

I am compiling this info. for an article.

What I can say for now is that 3KRRC were not on Spion Kop - they were on Twin Peaks.

Yes, obviously so, SWB, but 3rd Bn KRRC is one of the units I'm enquiring about!
