Cow Gun

This is an entry from the Daily Regimental Records of the Tenth Hussars, from the Zand River, entered in 1900.

Can anybody tell me what a "Cow Gun" is, and perhaps upload a picture?

Hello

It was a 5 inch gun - http://www.experiencewoodhorn.com/archive.ZBK~L~1~103

Whether "cow" is an acronym or simply a reference to the fact the gun was pulled by cows (oxen) is up for debate.
