Dongala Expedition.

For all discussions relating to the Egyptian and Sudanese campaigns fought between 1882 and 1898.

Dongala Expedition.

Armourer Sergeant W Richardson was shot dead on 20th September, 1896, while working the Maxim gun aboard the gunboat, Abu Klea, during the bombardment of Hafir.

Are any students of this campaign ….. or perhaps the North Staffordshires ….. aware of his Corps of Armourers’ number?

Thanks.

Peter

He appears on the medal roll for those British Officers and Non-commissioned Officers attached to the Egyptian Army, with the Regt. or Corps number of 716 - Armourer Section A O Corps - Gunboats.
