Hi,

I'm searching for information regarding a particular officer, Major A. B. Douglas who had some connection with this particular expedition however, I don't know if he was British Army or Indian Army, and consequently I don't know which regiment, etc.

Any specific information on the service of this officer would be appreciated, thanks.

The usual spelling for this Expedition appears to be Marris, against the Marri tribe. Murrees seems to be an earlier spelling.

There was a Marri Field Force.

There is a brief mention of the expedition in Nevill's book , page 89.

There is a fuller description page 141 Frontier and overseas expeditions from India Volume III Baluchistan and the First Afghan War. with a mention of Major Douglas, but no details of his regiment.

Thanks Maureene,

His regiment is actually mentioned on page 142; "Major A. B. Douglas 4th Bengal Native Infantry, Commanding".

Cheers,
