8th Regiment of foot in the mutiny

Postby andy1972 » 26 Aug 2016 15:27

Hi, I'm new to the forum and need information on any actions of the1st Battalion of the 8th regiment of foot during the mutiny.

I have a family member, 1385 Pte George Ingram, who served in the regiment and he has the Indian mutiny medal.

Any info will be gratefully received.

Thanks in advance.

Siege of Delhi, Relief and Battle of Agra, 2nd Relief of Lucknow. Long story. Google something like regimental records/historical records of the 8th Regiment and see if you can't bring up a full regimental history.

Best wishes,

Mike
